ARCHITECTURE

Arches along the streets are quite a common sight. Decorated with beautiful patterns and colors it is no wonder Little India is such a colorful place. In between these arches lie pots for plants also beautifully decorated.

The tiles on the pathways resemble flowers. Floral patterns are prominent in Indian Architecture. These pathways stretch all throughout Little India. The colors bring warmth and light into the streets.

A close up of the patterns and the colors on the arches. As you can see, they stretch all along the streets of Little India. The roads are also beautifully designed.

Stores like this are common. They resemble miniature temples. There is an alley filled with them usually selling religious items and flower garlands for prayers. People can be seen sewing flowers together behind these stores.

This is what the streets of Little India look like. Vibrant and bright colors bring the streets to life. The colors complement each other and makes the street look bigger.

There are also stores like this with traditional Indian architecture. The buildings in Little India have been renovated but some still remain as is. This is why Little India is so famous for it's buildings and people.

SrI Kota has been around for a very long time. When Little India was under renovation, the store remain untouched as it was landmark for Little India.

The fountain was a new addition to Little India when it was renovated. Traditional Indian designs and colors can be seen in this fountain. The elephant a religious symbol can also be seen in here.

Even the street lamps have a touch of Indian culture to them. The swirls and spirals are also prominent in Indian architecture. All the street lamps within Little India have these designs.

Even the police hut in the middle of Little india has a touch of Indian essence. The patterns on the façade of the hut are complex floral. They kept the color of the Malaysian police which are blue and white.

Another view of one of the streets of Little India. Here very little people can be seen because it was on the far side of Little India. However, the designs remain similar to give a sense of a coherent identity to the place.

Modern art by the side of the road gives Little India a futuristic look.
